Once upon a time there was this young girl who was taught over and over to get a good education so that she could get a great paying job as a woman. Turns out all of those great paying jobs are LAME.great paying job (greyt-pay-ing-job)
- An arrangement between an Employer, the Lord, and oneself where talents, energy, and commitment are exchanged for $$$...not a ridiculous amount but enough to cover living expenses and a little left over for shoes and awesome accessories (definition taken from Jessica's Dictionary not Webster's)
We may not even wake up tomorrow....so do you think it will matter if we were a CEO or waitress when we arrive at the pearly gates? I have a strong inclination that will not matter. But I truly believe that your heart and intentions will be known...and THAT is what matters to the Lord.
Here are a few verses that spoke to my heart on this subject:
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Romans 12:11
I love this verse for two reasons, 1.) I need to remind myself often that I am really working for the Lord, not the "man." The man provides the paycheck but the Lord provides for me always in ways that no earthly being could ever possibly measure up.
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
I love this verse; so timely in my life! I feel like God wants to reassure me in my decision to make a deviant change when I read this verse. I don't have to be a movie star, I don't have to play the interoffice politics, I am not measured on my status or title...but on my heart!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
My human tendencies sometimes get the best of me, and I would be lying if I didn't share my anxieties about the life change that is to come in the next 12 months. However...where ever I go the Lord will be with me and that my friends is enough reason to not care what other people think.

Amen Sistah! The Lord cares about our hearts and He is our Source for everything....I just love that. Love you girl!
